Where Research Becomes Real-World Impact
ARC Foundry is a founder-led community at the University of Glasgow where ideas, people, and ambition are shaped into ventures.
What is ARC Foundry?
ARC Foundry is a pilot initiative based at the University of Glasgow Advanced Research Centre, designed to support those exploring the journey from research to real-world impact.
It provides a trusted, low-pressure environment for researchers, founders, and innovators who are curious about entrepreneurship but not yet ready to commit to a defined commercial path. This is not a traditional programme or accelerator.
It is a place where:
• Ideas are explored
• Confidence is built
• Capability is developed
• Connections are made
ARC Foundry focuses on what comes before spinouts — helping people answer the question:
“Could this become something?”
Why it exists
Too many strong ideas never reach their full potential.
ARC Foundry exists to bridge the gap between research excellence and real-world application, without forcing premature commercialisation or narrow definitions of success.
It strengthens the ARC’s role as a living centre for innovation — not just where research happens, but where it is shaped into meaningful impact.
